The 23rd Annual Simi Valley Cajun & Blues Music Festival will be held on Saturday and Sunday of Memorial Day weekend, May 26th & 27th, 2012. DELTA GROOVE SIGNS TO MELODY LAUREN MUSIC
Melody Lauren Music, the publishing arm of DVD music indie Wienerworld,
has been appointed by Delta Groove as their new publisher for the UK,
Europe, South East Asia and Australia. Delta Groove's large blues and
jazz catalogue features artists Cedric Burnside & Lightnin' Malcolm,
Mannish Boys, Ana Popovic, Rod Piazza and Mike Zito, amongst its wide
collection. Having picked up a total of 14 nominations in 12 categories
for the 2012 Blues Music Awards, Delta Groove is set to cut a groove in
2012.
Anthony Broza, MD of Wienerworld and Melody Lauren Music said "it's a

The votes are now in and have been counted…Big Pete's new release "Choice Cuts" has won for Best Debut Artist (USA) for 2011 on The Blues Underground Network, as well as being selected as #1 Best Blues Albums of 2011 on the SoundGuardian.
BIG PETE RADIO SPOTLIGHT ON GLT BLUES RADIO
Check out the GLT Blues Radio broadcast featuring Big Pete where he discusses his new album "Choice Cuts" and his introduction into the Blues. "Big Pete" is a harp player and vocalist who hails from The Netherlands. "Pete" was just 23 when he was chosen for the European Memorial Tour honoring the music and legacy of Lester Butler. Pete made his Delta Groove Records debut in 2010, appearing on the Mannish Boys 5th anniversary release titled "Shake For Me." Pete's debut as a leader on Delta Groove is titled "Choice Cuts."
This past June saw the release of Rod Piazza's 25th recording "Almighty Dollar" on Delta Groove Music and the response so far has been strong. The CD has been riding high on the charts since its release which already includes ten weeks on the Roots Music Report and four months on the Living Blues Radio Chart where the album hit #1 in July. Blues Revue magazine has an upcoming feature about Rod written by Tom Cullen III, tentatively scheduled for their 2012 January/February issue, and the band is already gearing up for another busy Spring/Summer touring season which will include making their first appearance at our very own 7th AnnualDelta Groove All-Star Blues Revue at the Cajun & Blues Music Festival held in Simi Valley next Memorial Day weekend. Terry Hanck has an upcoming feature scheduled in 2012 for Blues Revue magazine. Hanck signed on with Delta Groove earlier this year based on the strength of his latest album “Look Out!” which has been receiving rave reviews in the press. All this recent attention for Terry has been a long time coming and we’re sure he’ll have some great stories to share given his history and background.
Blues Wax ran a two-part interview with Tracy Nelson back in July as part of their regular Sittin’ In With feature. In Part One: “A Bad White Girl” Comes Home, Don Wilcox speaks with Tracy about her early days, the new album, and reminisces about the late Pinetop Perkins.
