FRANK GOLDWASSER "BLUJU"
His new CD "Bluju", produced by Delta Groove founder Randy Chortkoff, has won praise in Europe as one of the most progressive blues releases in years. Goldwasser taps into a deep wellspring of influences, from blues and soul, to world music, to rock and beyond, while at the same time remaining deeply rooted in the blues tradition. Included on this newly expanded edition available for the first time here in the U.S. are two bonus tracks featuring wild renditions of the Hound Dog Taylor songs "She's Gone" and "55 Street Boogie", bringing Frank "Paris Slim" Goldwasser full circle back to his roots and the music that initially inspired him in his youth.
"Simply stunning...everything a record should be, inventiv, truthful, filled with power and an absolutely exceptional level of musicianship." - Southland Blues Magazine
"The French ambassador of American Blues...Forceful and soulful playing."
- Vintage Guitar Magazine
"One of the most accomplished and inspired guitarist on today's California Blues scene"
- Soul Bag

LEGEND REDISCOVERED:
 |
Delta Groove Productions has recenlty added another unique and lost talent to its roster, veteran singer Bobby Jones. Jones has a deep history on the Chicago Blues scene, going back to the late '50s when he was the featured vocalist with the legendary Aces band of Dave and Louis Myers. He also worked with famed guitarist Jody Williams in the early '60s, Syl Johnson, and many others. His return to the spotlight will no doubt be fueled by his appearance on two songs on the upcoming Mannish Boys release "Big Plans" scheduled for a May release. |

EXCERPTS FROM THE ARTICLE: It's not all that unusual for a foreign blues player to come to the U.S. for a crash course in the music and the culture of the blues, doing their best to absorb some measure of the "real thing" before heading back to their homeland in Europe, Japan, or South America with an added measure of authenticity on their resume. It's far less common for a non-native blues player to move to the U.S. and not only make his home here, but make a name for himself here as a genunie bluesman...
