Filming is already in progress for “Spring Break ‘83” in New Orleans - the next major motion picture release by Big Sky Motion Pictures and Eclecto Groove / Delta Groove Productions. Starring such memorable actors as John Goodman, Jamie Kennedy, Mars Callahan, Joe Pantoliano, Paul Reubens, Downtown Julie Brown, Richard Portnow and Erik Estrada, the coming of age teen comedy will spoof the ‘80s in tribute to such classic lampooning comedies as “Animal House”, “Porky’s”, “Revenge Of The Nerds”, “Airplane”, and “Police Academy.” Much like how legendary performers Stevie Ray Vaughan appeared in the 1987 film “Back To The Beach” or Robert Cray in the 1978 classic “Animal House,” Eclecto Groove recording artists Ana Popovic and Zito were on hand to lend their talents as the “house band” in the film.

In addition to the debut of Ana Popovic and Zito on the silver screen, both artists will have their music featured on the soundtrack during the “Spring Break ‘83” movie and in the reality based T.V. show “Casting Call - Spring Break '83 ” which is also currently in production by Big Sky Motion Pictures. Hosted by comedian Dan Levy and featuring celebrity judges Joe Piscopo, Morgan Fairchild and Adrian Zmed, the variety talent competition show is seeking aspiring actors and actresses who will be competing for the opportunity to appear in the Big Sky Motion Picture “Spring Break ‘83.” This uniquely innovative and groundbreaking approach of combining reality television with film will also expand opportunities for Eclecto Groove Records to place additional music from the label allowing for further exposure.

Randy Chortkoff’s decision to hire music and entertainment industry veteran Robert Fitzpatrick as president of both Delta & Eclecto Groove Records continues to pay huge dividends as the company moves forward with even bigger plans for 2008. Fitzpatrick’s expertise has guided the company in new directions and his vision for the label continues to raise the bar in our marketing and planning strategies, furthering our efforts to help increase the visibility of our artists.
Robert Fitzpatrick is well-known and highly respected within the music industry with a career that dates back to the 60’s, when he was an attorney for the The Beatles. He also represented such high-profile artists as The Rolling Stones, The Who, and singer Peggy Lee. Fitzpatrick later joined with entertainment mogul Robert Stigwood to form the management firm Stigwood Fitzpatrick, Inc., and managed such super groups as Cream and The Bee Gees. Prior to joining Delta & Eclecto Groove, Fitzpatrick was President and CEO of Vista Ave Entertainment Group, a multi faceted film and music company, RFO Entertainment, a management and production company, and The Robert Fitzpatrick Organization.

JASON RICCI & NEW BLOOD "ROCKET NUMBER 9" (OCT. 23)
Jason Ricci is that rare individual that only comes along once in a generation – an artist with the unique ability to help shape and redefine the sound of his chosen instrument and forever change the course of music history. His style is varied and his influences far reaching, having spent countless hours absorbing everything from Sun Ra to Little Walter, the Rolling Stones to the Pixies, Lou Reed to Govt. Mule, and everything in between. The depth of his music crisscrosses the audible landscape leaving no stone unturned as he fully explores blues, jazz, funk, rock, punk, and even drawing inspiration from the current crop of jam bands, all while still retaining the stamp of his own inimitable style.
Jason has over 10 years experience living life out on the road, and performs over 300 dates a year. New Blood’s live shows have quickly attained legendary cult status with archived performances surpassing downloads on the Internet by popular acts such as the Grateful Dead and Phish. In 2005, the Mercury News even listed the band in their Top Ten Shows of the Year alongside major touring artists including Prince, Rush and Green Day.
Through hard work and dedication Jason Ricci & New Blood have built a solid fan base from the ground up, selling over 12,000 copies of their self produced/released CD “Blood on the Road,” and all without the help of record labels, national distributors, or publicists. Together with guitarist Shawn Starsky, who brings with him an arsenal of creative talent and fresh ideas, and Grammy Award winning producer John Porter at the helm, Jason Ricci & New Blood have created a visionary and sonically explosive masterpiece that is sure to shake your foundations.
“As a lover of live music, a JRNB show is absolutely exhilarating. Imagine the best virtuoso-filled "jam band" you've ever seen (think early '90's Phish, old Fleck tones, Allmans, Robert Randolph, Derek Trucks, etc.) and then double the energy and stage presence.”
- Blake Taylor (Writer for Cincinnati City Beat)
"Ricci links the jazz mastery of Howard Levy, with the blues precision of Jerry Portnoyand hits speeds that make John Popper look like he's standing still."
- Brad Kava (Mercury News)

THE DREAM TEAM:
Recording is now complete for the upcoming Eclecto Groove Records debut release “Today” by Zito, who entered the studio last month to lay down tracks along with the help of “The Dream Team” organized by CEO Randy Chortkoff and the President of Eclecto Groove Records & Delta Groove Music, Robert Fitzpatrick. The team consists of producer Tony Braunagel who was essential in bringing together the cream of the crop for the Dream Team ( produced Eric Burdon’s most recent CD “Soul of a Man”), producer David Z (whose production credits include albums by Prince, Buddy Guy, Ana Popovic, Jonny Lang and Etta James), and label CEO Randy Chortkoff. Zito’s natural talent was matched by a stellar assembly of world class musicians that included bassist James “Hutch” Hutchinson (who has won 27 Grammy-Awards and has recorded on numerous projects including Bonnie Raitt, Roy Orbison, Joe Cocker, Willie Nelson, Boz Scaggs, Keb’ Mo’ and B.B. King), Keyboardist Benmont Tench (longtime pianist with Tom Petty & the Heartbreakers and highly sought-after session player who has appeared on recordings by Jackson Browne, Johnny Cash, Elvis Costello, Bob Dylan, Stevie Nicks, Bonnie Raitt, U2, and the Rolling Stones to name just a few!), drummer Tony Braunagel (Taj Mahal, Eric Burdon, B.B. King, Bonnie Raitt and Phantom Blues Band) and a stellar group of additional musicians and vocalists. A great deal of effort and emphasis was placed on really developing Zito’s songs and arrangements, resulting in a powerfully majestic and unashamedly personal work that reveals a truly gifted artist has officially arrived on the scene. Look for Zito’s worldwide release on Eclecto Groove Records in early 2008!
BEHIND THE SCENES:
Zito was recently on location in New Orleans to film his cameo appearance in the upcoming Big Sky Motion Picture release “Spring Break ’83.” Zito can be seen performing on stage together with Ana Popovic in the cantina sequence that takes place during the movie, where they pay tribute to the musical stylings of the early ‘80s. Click here to catch a glimpse and take a behind the scenes look with photos from the production.
