Europe's hottest blues-rock guitarist may well be Ana Popovic, a young blueswoman born in the former Yugoslavia, but currently based in The Netherlands. Popovic kicked off her already-impressive career with the 2000 release of her debut album, Hush! In the years since, she's opened for, or supported blues and R&B artists like Solomon Burke, Junior Wells, Bernard Allison, and Kenny Neal, among others. In 2003, Popovic became the first European artist to be nominated for a W.C. Handy Award by The Blues Foundation, and she knocked the crowd of blues fans and industry insiders on their tails with her performance at the awards show.

A week or so ago, Popovic released her fourth studio album, titled Blind For Love. The culmination of two years of hard touring across the United States and Europe, Popovic recorded Blind For Love in Los Angeles with producer Mark Dearnley (AC/DC, Tom Petty) and the members of her road-tested touring band. Special guests on the album include drummer Tony Braunagel and keyboardist Mike Finnigan from the Phantom Blues Band. Blind For Love builds on Popovic's maturing songwriting skills, and features plenty of her slashing fretwork kicking out the jams with a mix of blues, rock, jazz, and funk.

Popovic and her crew will be touring through the end of the year in support of Blind For Love, and this is your chance to see this young talent perform live before everybody and their brother has heard of her!
