CANDYE KANE "SUPERHERO"
Source: Examiner
Date: 08/2011

Upcoming show: Candye Kane in Ventura
There's a reason she's called the "toughest girl alive."
And it's not just because that was the name of her 1995 album. Candye Kane has been climbing her way to the top of the bluesy genre she so perfectly represents. Working hard since the 80's, she's been steadily releasing music that is both timeless and inherently modern. All while raising two children, doing philanthropic work and recently, battling and effectively beating pancreatic cancer.
This has done all but slow her down. her 11th studio release, Sister Vagabond, is set to come out August 16th on Delta Groove Records, produced by guitarist and friend Laura Chavez. Come celebrate this event at Yolie's in Ventura tomorrow, August 5th, where you can enjoy some spicy Mexican food while watching a spicy babe perform her hits.
It's bound to be a great show and it will be a treat to watch an extraordinary woman perform.
"I will continue to work as much as I can because I know life is fragile anyway," Kane says, "I would be fine if I died onstage doing what I love like Country Dick Montana or Johnny Guitar Watson. I'm not planning on going anytime soon, but when I do exit this plane, I hope it's making someone else feel inspired by the powerful words in my songs."
