Jason Ricci is an amazing harmonica soloist, and his group New Blood is the talk of the blues world. A band at home with traditional Delta sounds, more modern urban material and avant-garde experimental fare, the band’s current release Rocket Number 9 (produced by John Porter) has gotten raves for its diverse selections and the group’s impressive abilities. 
 
Ricci’s flair as an instrumentalist and personality as a singer powers the band’s tunes, though guitarist Shawn Starski, bassist Todd Edmunds and drummer Ron Sutton are important contributors. They’ll return to Bourbon Street Blues & Boogie Bar Tuesday (9 p.m., 220 Printers Alley, 242-5837).
