JOHN
LONG "LOST & FOUND"
Source: Down Beat

Date: 03/2006

Unknown
outside Missouri, Long renders his songs on
the road, strained relationships, romance as
rejuvenator and lousy luck in general with a
self-possession and an unadorned directness
that heralds his first record as the most pleasing
from an old-school acoustic blues performer
in the past year. His highly personal way with
“Healin’ Tough” and “Foot
Stompin’ Daddy” gives them a real-life
shimmer. The only help this singer-guitarist-harp
player needs finding the way comes from pianist
Fred Kaplan.
