JOHN LONG "LOST & FOUND"
Source: The Star Press
Date: 05/2006

Writer:

If you just wandered into a dive bar on some Chicago back street at 2 a.m., you’d expect to hear the blues as played by John Long.

A veteran performer and frequent sideman of Muddy Waters, Lost & Found is Long’s first formal recording after 40 years in the business. And it’s worth the wait. From Long’s baritone reaching for the low notes on Pressure Cooker (‘Bout to Blow) to Leavin’ St. Louis (either version), blues fans have a whole lot to love on Lost & Found.

Standout tracks: Hokum Town; the piano led boogie of Hell Cat; that mean ol’ Stranglevine.
