Lengthy tracks allow The Legendary Rhythm & Blues Revue ample room for solos on the quartet’s live Command Performance (Delta Groove).
Guitarists Tommy Castro and Ronnie Baker Brooks, keyboardist/sax lady Deanna Bogart and harpman Magic Dick (of J. Geils Band) pass around vocal leads, increasing the variety. Brooks (son of guitarist Lonnie Brooks) turns richly soulful on “See You Hurt No More.” Magic Dick’s Chicago-influenced harp is delightfully nasty.
