LYNWOOD
SLIM "LAST CALL"

While
the cast of characters has some crossover with
the Mannish Boys and the Blue Flames this disc
is a bit more upscale lounge to their roadhouse.
Kid Ramos and Kirk Fletcher are the primary guitar
foils to Slims smooth vocals and harp. The Clifton
Chenier zydeco rocker “All Night Long”
is given an interesting treatment with Rich DelGrosso’s
mandolin driving the song instead of accordion.
The easy shuffle “Across The Sea”
(no, not Bobby Darin’s) should please any
purist. “Say It” features a sonic
change up with the Chicago Blues Angels (Nick
and Kate Moss, Armando Cortez) backing up Slim.
Moss’s sharp stinging tone is softened by
some subtle background vocals that give the cut
a vintage feel. Plenty here to enjoy.
