West Coast Swing fills the room when Lynwood Slim takes the stage. It's a party that can last until the wee hours. With horns, upright bass, drums, and several fiery guitars on board, he sings a program that represents the old school. It's the same jump blues and swing that filled an era with joy over 50 years ago. Slim plays harp sparingly on this session, as he interprets classic songs such as "Me, Myself and I," "I'm Sorry," "All Night Long," "Well Alright, O.K. You Win," and "Nothin' But the Blues." As for guitarists, he's got an army of 'em, and each lends something special to The program. Guitarist Jeff Ross swings an acoustic model while rhythm guitarist Gonzalo Bergara supplies a powerful rhythm. Sizzling electric guitarist Armando Cortez sends out lightning bolts while rhythm guitarist Kate Moss helps to deliver their soulful sermon. Kid Ramos and Kirk Fletcher give Slim an exciting guitar presence through several parts of the program, while Ron Dziubla surrounds them with soulful horns. Slim's harmonica graces three of the album's twelve tracks, and he plays flute on the final number. His is a vocal album, however, that emphasizes the kind of swing spirit that merged jazz and blues during the Swing Era for a good time.
