LYNWOOD
SLIM "LAST CALL"

At last….. Maybe that would be a more appropriate
name for this Lynwood Slim (Richard Duran) album.
It's been a while!! But it was worth waiting.
It turns out to be some kind of a sophisticated
blues album,
with a "Jazzy Edge".
In my opinion Lynwood is one of today's best blues
vocalists. His voice is smooth and slick, like
the "old fashioned" jazz/swing crooners.
His harmonica playing is marvellous on every kind
of blues harp: small, chromatic…. You name
it, he does it! Right at the start of the album,
the first song "Well Allright, O.K. You Win"
knocks you out. Lynwood and Kid Ramos are just
great on this one. The other tracks on the entire
album are equally good! Kirk Fletcher proves why
he was nominated as best guitar instrumentalist
of the year.
If I had a vote in it….. this album would
be nominated for a Blues Music Award.. no matter
what!!
Don't buy it??? You're NUTS!
