The Mannish Boys, Big Plans (Delta Groove).  This is like one of those superbands, except that they are all top Blues players, and they actually sound great together.  Not just a great bunch of players from Southern California, the Mannish Boys also have great vocalists.  It's actually hard to pick just a few cuts, but my favorites are Finis Tasby singing Border Town Blues (1) and Why Do Things Happen to Me? (8), Johnny Dyer doing Mary Jane (4),  Jody Williams' guest shots on Groan My Blues Away (9), and Young And Tender (11), and Bob Jones guesting on the apt California Blues (15).  A lot of thrills for one little disc.
