The
Mannish Boys are a hot new band from
the USA, who incorporate 8 seasoned “Professionals”
who all have previous track records playing the
Blues either individually or in bands across the
States. They create some excellent music, which
was captured and recorded live on the 17th July
at the 2005 Winthrop rhythm & Blues Festival,
Washington. The band showcase a broad spectrum
of blues styles and cover traditional and modern
blues classics, including “I’m Ready”,
Howling Wolf, Strangest Blues and the stand out
track “As Years Go Passing By” Chicken
Shack style). The recording quality is excellent
and at times you forget that these tracks were
recorded live, being so note perfect although
this is probably down to the skills and professionalism
on the band. This is really a complete & entertaining
CD that oozes quality & demonstrates what
is god about Blues music today.
