The
Mannish Boys, Live and In Demand (Delta Groove). An
all-star line-up of LA based Blues Heavies, recorded
live in July 2005. The set opens with a blistering instrumental,
Kid's Jump (1) that features Kid Ramos on guitar. Several
vocalists trade the next group of tunes, the best of
which is Johnny Dyer singing You're Sweet (5). Things
really fall together, though, when Finis Tasby takes
the mic, starting with the fine novelty Goin' Crazy
Over TV (7). All his tracks (7-12) are good, especially
Strangest Blues (10) and As the Years Go Passing By
(11). |
