MITCH KASHMAR "LIVE AT LABATT"
Source: Twelve Bar Rag
Date: 03/2009
Writer: Evan Brodsky

Mitch Kashmar is a name only recognized by hardcore harp fans. If you are a Wilson, Piazza, Clarke fan, you will love Kashmar. He is a west coast artist and has that George Smith thing going on… That swing that influenced all those west coast dudes. But beyond that, he is all in that group of great harp players from all over the USA that are not as well known. Included among those would be Jim Liban, Steve Guyger, and Gary Smith. This CD is terrific. It is live from a festival in Canada in 2007. Get this, or any other CD of Kashmar’s and you will be pleased. His originals are fun, and his tributes to the styles of Jimmy Reed and William Clarke rock the blues. Hope we get to see him down here sometime. Highly Recommended.
