MITCH KASHMAR "WAKE UP & WORRY"

So by now if you have been reading my reviews and looking at my pics you already know how much I dig blues harmonica. Mitch is a recent addition to my favorites list after his last year’s release of “Nickels and Dimes”. He is just so energetic and real; that kinda style gets me every time! The only downfall to diggin’ Mitch is that like so many other of my favs, he tours almost exclusively in CA. Not a bad thing for all you folks that live out that way I suppose…I’m just jealous! I did get the honor of meeting Mitch at the Handy Awards this past May in Memphis and he was really cool. Check out Delta Groove Productions, his record label, as there are a lot of tasty bites to get if you’re hooked on the blues like I am.

Special guests:
Rusty Zinn, Junior Watson, Richard Innes, and Randy Chortkoff

1. I Got No Reason- jumpin’ tune that gives you a good groove
2. Dead Presidents-great blues song about money
3. Green Bananas-first song I heard on the disc; catchy and will be with you all day long
4. Funky Dee-groovy instrumental
5. Wake Up & Worry-I can relate to this jivin’ tune!
6. Night Creeper-drums got me going on this tune
7. Half Pint-A-Whiskey-my fav on the disc; a literal party goin’ on!
8. Black Dog Blues-acoustic harp; cant go wrong w/ that!
9. You Dogged Me-Jimmy Reed is back for 2006; my second fav on the disc
10. Up The Line-two words-Gary Smith! Oh, how I love those harp players from CA!
11. I’m Sorry-slow and soulful along w/ tasty guitar work
12. The Waddle-another fine instrumental

I have no choice but to give this album 4.81 on the STLBluesometer. I love it!!
