PHANTOM BLUES BAND "FOOTPRINTS"

All of these guys are well-seasoned professionals that have been “hard chargers” in their own right for several decades. Together they make a dynamic team of Blues players, with just a little Jazz on the side. The Phantom Blues Band was originally formed as an in-studio band backup for Taj Mahal. They were recipients of the 2001 W.C. Hand award as band of the year. They have also played as backup and recorded with many other great Blues artists and have toured through out the U.S., Europe, Japan, and Australia. They have no problem standing on their own, either. I enjoyed some of there original songs, especially “Barnyard Blues,” written by Johnny Lee Schell, who plays the guitar as well as performs vocals. Joe Sublett and Darrell Leonard (“The Horn Guys”) really get going on some of the more Jazzy cuts. I would expect to hear more from these guys in the future.
