THE HOLLYWOOD BLUE FLAMES
"ROAD TO RIO" & "SOUL SANCTUARY"

Source: Radio Feedback

I finally realized that we have two of your artists' discs in play currently on the Juke (WMSV):  the Hollywood Blue Flames and the Mannish Boys.  Both great discs stuffed with talent.  I've been a fan since I opened the tribute to Hollywood Fats.  Looking forward to more!

Woke up this mornin' with a Hollywood hangover. I loved loved loved the Blue Flames. So authentic in every way. Larry and Richard held it down til I thought my heart would implode and Fred was amazing and tore up the place. What can I say about Al Blake.....yes, yes, yes. Rick Holmstrom was the bonus situation. I'm blessed with these Blues. Thank you babies.

Delta Groove, #1 in our hearts.

We LOVE the three most recent releases from D.G. here at 100,000 watt KUMD in Duluth, MN. Each is terrific in it's own way:

John Long "Lost & Found" is a great intro to someone we hadn't known.

Hollywood Blue Flames "Road To Rio" continues their reemergence

Lynwood Slim "Last Call" (Say "Hi" to Slim for me, he and I go way back)

All getting 3-4 spins a week within our eclectic musical mix!! keep the great music coming!!

Love the new CDs by the Hollywood Blue Flames, the bonus disc of the Hollywood Fats band performances. The projects you release are among the best in the biz. I'm sure they'll rise to the top of my playlist by the end of June.

Just a quick note of sincere thanks for sending Hollywood Fats Band, Hollywood Blue Flames and Lynwood Slim cd's which I picked up from radio station today.  The tunes are certainly moving me - the song "Let's Rock Awhile" from Road To Rio particularly, has struck an incredible cord for me personally, which I can only describe as fantastic.  All the music is most definitely "getting closer to the core".  I'm sure my listeners will agree, too.

Will feature this weekend.

Many thanks again.

Cheers.

The new album by The Hollywood Blue Flames and bonus disc with Hollywood Fats' tracks is a real winner - for me traditional album of the year! No other comments are needed.

As with other Delta Groove albums it will be my pleasure to feature them in my shows. I'm sure my listeners will enjoy it as much as I do.

Welcome to PBS FM, Melbourne's only Roots Music based station. I have just received your package and you blew not only myself but the number one Blues announcer away with the contents. To say l had to hold him back is an understatement, yep he was a shakin'. What we do around here is that every cd that arrives is listened to by myself and my assistant and then allocated to the show that it is best suited to. The two releases will be finding a home with Tom Sianidis for his "Jumping The Blues" show Wednesdays 1 to 3pm. This is the top Blues show in town and has a very large following both on the radio but also on the web site here. The "Lynwood Slim" cd was on his wish list and after listening to it l understand why, in fact there were a couple of tracks of big interest to me in particular. The reason, was that l present a Doo-Wop show every Monday and Track 7 is a 5 Royales song and track 11 is a Bo Diddly and the Flamingos track. Sorry to digress as they instantly caught my attention. Also to see the "Hollywood Fats Band with a new release as the "Hollywood Blue Flames" ( which by coincidence was the name of 50's legendry singer Bobby Byrd and his Hollywood Flames, Top West Coast Group). Sorry did it again. This double cd is sensational and will be aired on next weeks show, one that l will really be looking forward to. Tom as always will be giving the listeners your web site address and will be mentioning it on his station web site program page. Because we are the home of the blues in this city we are expected to keep ahead of the rest and produce only THE best in the music world, Delta Groove is exactly what we are here for and stand for. Thank-you for your generous support and of course on behalf of the station and our listeners may l extend to you all a big welcome to Melbourne Australia. Delta Groove part of the sound of PBS FM.

Kindest regards Peter.

“I have been following the musical careers of the members of The Hollywood Blue Flames since the Hollywood Fats album was released on vinyl. I really like their album and have been playing it a lot as evidenced by its position at number 3 this month. They have achieved that telepathic tight yet relaxed sound that only people who have played together for a number of years are able to reach.”
