JACKIE PAYNE STEVE EDMONSON BAND "OVERNIGHT SENSATION" Source: Radio Feedback

I’m very happy ‘cause I received your welcome packet with the brand new Jackie Payne / Steve Edmonsons‘s CD…OVERNIGHT SENSATION is a great album, a perfect and exciting dictionary of Black Music (soul, blues, funky, R’n’B, soul jazz, country-soul). It’s better than “Master of the Game” and the older “Partners In The Blues”. There are many songs so good for the airplay: TITLE-TRACK,  MOTHER- IN- LAW…I GOT MY MIND…, MIDNIGHT FRIEND, SHE’ S LOOKING  GOOD, BRINGING ME… And then there is one of my all-time favourite songs: the marvellous C. Rich’ s masterpiece of the heart, FEEL LIKE GOING HOME. OVERNIGHT…is another DG precious gem for my programs.

I've been listening to “Overnight Sensation” for the past few days and I've got to say I'm really impressed. The band has never sounded better. Edmonson continues to impress me with his guitar playing - never overdone, always spot on and tasty. And Jackie Payne continues to sing well. Overall, another excellent CD. I'll be featuring the album next Tuesday on my show and intend to play "Overnight Sensation", "I've Got a Mind to Go To Chicago", and that excellent medley, "She's Looking Good/I've Never Found a Girl".

Received the new Jackie Payne & Steve Edmonson CD today. In reviewing it for airplay, I have to say I don't know where to start as far as track selection. This is one of the best old school flavored soul blues albums to cross my desk in a very long time. Wow, what can I say except ….the new CD by the Jackie Payne-Steve Edmonson Band is excellent!

Received the new Jackie Payne & Steve Edmonson CD today.  In reviewing it for airplay, I have to say I don't know where to start as far as track selection.  If folks thought "Master of the Game" was good, they have absolutely no idea what they're in store for with "Overnight Sensation".  This is one of the best old school flavored soul blues albums to cross my desk in a very long time.  If this album isn't a chart topper it tells me someone isn't listening.

The new CD by the Jackie Payne-Steve Edmonson Band is excellent! It arrived yesterday and I plopped it into the CD player to preview it and when it was over I hit "replay" and listened to it again, then later in the day I listened again!  I never do that with a new CD, but it's a great record.
