As the previous one ( “BIG PLANS” ) the “sepia” cover is fantastic. As all the three ones the song-list is particularly effective and plenty of very fine tunes for a great airplay. Yes, I have my favourite ones ( THESE KIND OF BLUES, LOWDOWN…, CHOCOLATE DROP, FINE LOOKIN’ WOMAN, YOU DON’T LOVE ME, SOMERTHING’S WRONG…), but all the program is so good indeed . Many thanks once more for this marvellous gift of music !

The album by The Legendary Rhythm & Blues Revue is cool as well. I remember seeing Tommy Castro live a couple of months back so this set brought back my memories – so many talented people on one stage, great. Apart from the music itself, which is first class, I also like the sound presentation – raw and real, sounding very live but at the same time full and well produced. Good job.

The Legendary Rhythm and Blues Review, Command Performance (Delta Groove). Someday I will get to go on the Rhythm and Blues Cruise, spending a week on the ocean hanging out with other Blues fans and artists, and catching the shows each and every night. But until that day, I will have to make do with this album (and maybe future versions) which captured the artists from the “legendary” cruise while they toured some West Coast clubs. Although this is a big collaboration, it hangs together pretty well with hard R&B being the glue. My favorite cuts include Tommy Castro singing I Feel That Old Feeling Coming On (2), Deanna Bogart on Still the Girl in the Band (4) and Will it Go Round in Circles (8), Ronnie Baker Brooks on Sea You Hurt No More (5), and Marcia Ball leading the crew on a rollicking Sea Cruise (13).

Legendary Rhythm & Blues Revue has arrived!! …Thank you …with Deanna Bogart, Tommy Castro, Marcia Ball (some of my old favorites)(I am actually a big fan of Deanna Bogart, just thrilled that she is this CD, along with Tommy Castro (another long time favorite), and Marcia Ball (seen her perform in Vermont, twice…she always comes back… :)  )   BoogieKing Steve at KRVM gave me a huge heads-up on this CD.  (“John, you need to make sure you get this…and play this…”)  High praise indeed.  It sounds great…again DeltaGroove produces another perfect fit for my show and soon another addition to my personal collection, oooo, a good use for my future economic stimulus check… :)   Listening to Legendary R&B right now … in fact… great stuff.
