Thanks
so much for sending along a copy of the excellent
new release from Rod Piazza and the Mighty Flyers.
I've seen this band live many times and am a great
fan of their music and, like most males who have
seen them live, a big fan of Miss Honey! I can
tell you now that this release will receive substantial
airplay on my show. -
The Blues Blowout /
( WIVI / VI.) We
just love the new cd. I had to play it through
twice on my first listen. Even though we have
a ton of new cd's, I predict Rod, Honey, &
crew will fly to the top of the blues charts!
- (WEFT
/
Chanpaign, IL.)
Thought
I'd let you know that Piazza's "The Chosen
Who" Cd , while it arrived too late in the
month in June to chart, will definetly chart in
July. Perhaps even in the top 5! Just came back
from the North Atlantic Blues Festival here in
Rockland Maine, one of the premier festivals in
the country and everyone I spoke to is takling
about the new Piazza disc. Another winner ffor
Delta Groove and the blues world.
- (WBOR /Branswicy, ME.)
This
is another fine production from Delta Groove.
I've listened to this new Rod Piazza several times
and this baby is HOT!!! I'll see to it that it
gets plenty of airplay. - (WRB
/ Lewsiston, ME.)
I've
listened to it several times and I think it's
very very good ! With well chosen and not obvious
covers and very fine new songs. Among my favorite
right now ? Let's see...I'M A LOVE YOU, YOU CAN
MAKE IT...SHOESTRING, "HONEY'S BLUES",
"DESCRIPTION OF A FOOL, but maybe tomorrow
I'll change my mind... Monday morning I will leave
for a ten days sea-vacation. I'll introduce it
in my radioshow with so much pleasure when I'll
be back (12-13) and I'll send you the playlist.
I've
listened to the disc 3 times now & have come
to the conclusion that this is quite
possibly one of his finest outings to date. The
cast of supporting artists reads like a who's
who & the return to a roots feel cements this
disc as one that will undoubtedly garner Rod &
company another fistful of Handys. Count on airplay
in Houston from the Hound. I'll be sure to mention
Delta Groove's website & the other outstanding
projects available from the DG family.
- The Blues Hound
I
recieved the "chosen who". I think it
is Rod's best stuff yet! Thank you I will be giving
this a lot of airplay. - (KUNV
/ LV, NV.) I
particularly love the backing vocals that at times
sounds like i am in church with a tinge of gospel
going on here. Hey, guess that goes with the title
"The Chosen Who",,,I feel like I have
been saved! All I can say is watch for this one
to chart bigtime here at WBOR. - (WBOR
/ ME.) Just
letting you know we did receive the Piazza disc
and man I am speechless,,,,What a fantastic cd,,like
the liner notes say this cd has a little of everything,,,The
couple of instrumentals on here I am thinking
of using one or the other for my shows new intro
song (love Honey's Blues) Also, Rod's guests on
this disc are superb, love Guy's and Ramos guitars
and WOW, Johnny Dyer on vocals,,I am a big fan
of his.
This
is a great disc! It's nice to hear Rod pay tribute
to Little Walter, Sonny Boy and the under appreciated
Jimmy Reed. Rod Piazza and The Mighty Flyers never
disappoint, this will get plenty of airplay on
The Big Blues Broadcast.
He's
getting back to his roots. Nice stuff.
- (KFAI
/ St. Paul, MN.)
Yes
and its great as expected!
I
received both the DVD-less one (which I have reviewed
and put on the ADD list at WFHB radio in Bloomington,
IN), and the one WITH the DVD which I haven't
yet had a chance to watch, but I must say this
is a good disc. I've always admired Rod's adherence
to really good/deep blues and this is a great
statement of it. Really liked Randy's harp solo
too! Nice work!
Got
it, airing it even as we speak. Thanks!!
Got
the Rod Piazza Cd the other day. Iplayed it and
I will have to commend Rod and Delta Groove for
another superb production. You people have been
so consistent with really fine quality musitions
and material, ever since Ive' been aware of your
label. My congrats. youve' got another winner
there for sure.
- (WMWM Radio Salem, Ma)
Delta
Groove is becoming the major force in the blues
world. Good! New Piazza's album sounds great -
it may be the best he has recorded yet. The arrangements
are interesting, the band is tight and special
guests add some extra spices.
Thanks
so much for the new Rod Piazza CD! Very nice productions
– great sound. I kind of feel sorry for
anything else we received this week, because it’s
not going to get very much attention!
- (WMUA 91.1 fm / Anherst, MA.)
“Just
got your package containing the new Mannish Boys
and Kirk Fletcher CD’s. Can’t wait
to get them in the player and add them to the
play list.” - (KEMC
/ MT) "adding
them to AAA format”
- (WOLV / MI)
