I sure like that Mike Zito CD. I'm usually a more traditional kind of fella, but it's got soul. Very cool.

I just previewed Mike Zito's follow-up to his excellent "Today" album and I'm delighted to say it did not disappoint.  To the contrary this is a stronger effort thanks to his stylish and soulful vocals, and the extraordinary band and guest artists he has included on this album.  The new "Pearl River" album is "solid" all the way through and has enough variation throughout the playlist to keep you wondering what comin' next!  Label it any way you want, Blues-Rock-Americana, whatever!  Mike Zito has established himself as one of the top singer-songwriter-guitarists out there!

Not only did I receive Mike Zito's latest CD but we featured 30 minutes of music of it in our Best New CD of the Week on "Shout Brother Shout" on WXCI.  This CD beats his first release (which I really liked) by a mile.  I like the bluesier approach and the song quality is excellent.  Zito has moved up into my "gotta listen" category.  We'll probably feature him again in two weeks on our best of the month round-up.  It's the best I've heard this month so far.

“The Fish Fry” has received this new CD, “The Fish Fry” likes the new CD, and “The Fish Fry” has been putting the new CD in its recent playlists already.  As always, big ups to Delta Groove for their continued support of shows like ours and music like Mike Zito’s – thanks now and always!

Just wanted to thank you for sending the great promo CD's. I loved Zito's new disc (Pearl River), and even felt compelled to put a quick review of it on Amazon.com, hope it'll help sales. I'll use stuff from this one on both of my shows (I also have another show on 90.3 WQUB), and several tunes will also be added to my "Hourly Blues Rotation" (of about 300 tunes) on 103.9 (we play a "Blues Tune Every hour-at the bottom of the hour-pretty popular feature).

Excellent follow-up to Mike's debut. Almost fell off my chair when I heard Susie (Susan) Cowsill singing! You've got to be old as I am to remember her as a kid.

I received Mike’s cd last week and played Three cuts on my radio show.  I played “Dirty Blonde” and “Big Mouth” and my favorite cut on the CD “Change My Ways.”  I got a few calls about the cuts I played.  I really like the CD and reviewed it on my “Top Spins” column.I will continue to give it airplay in Chicagoland.

Many thanks once again as I’ve just received Mike Zito’s Pearl River. Yet another fabulous production from Eclecto Groove. I’m loving Mike sharing the vocal duties… I can’t tire of the plethora of styles and voices. Beautiful work from all involved. Looking forward to the next set of tracks from you generous folks.

Cheers from Australia,

Mike Zito "Today"

This new album will be a radio hit as Mike Zito has all the potential needed to become a star. He’s got the looks, kick ass attitude and plenty of talent. After just a few bars of the opening cut I knew that I am in for a treat. Mike can sing his soul out, no doubt about that. His voice has that smoky quality that makes it so memorable. Plus, the album is full of great songs for his vocal delivery to shine. “Love Like This”, “Superman”, I could easily point out all 13 cuts as there is no weak track here. And the coolest thing about this new release is the huge crossover potential it has. You can play all those songs in MTV and people will go nuts. Zito’s melodies are catchy but never fell into cliché territories. Together with first class musicianship and arrangements “Today” will gather a lot of positive feedback and I am sure about that. I really hope that younger audiences will reach for this CD and get the taste of GOOD, man-made music. You can call it singer/songwriter, you can call it adult alternative or pop-blues, but the only fitting description is smokin’ hot!

I became an instant fan of Mike Zito upon hearing "Love Like This". I knew I needed to hear more and learn more about this Zito guy. His soulful voice has a hint of John Haitt to it. Be sure to check out Zito's version of "Little Red Corvette"...It is smokin' hot!

Mike Zito's "Today" is a record you wished you'd heard a long time ago. Where has this cat been hiding? His souful vocals are drenched with feeling and his treatment of "Little Red Corvette" surpasses the original (yes!). Zito plays guitar the way he sings - with assurance and color.
