Mike Zito is currently touring the country in support of the upcoming release of his new cd “Pearl River”. Zito whose cd “Today” on the Delta Groove label debuted at #15 on the Billboard Blues Charts is currently touring the country in anticipation of his soon to be released cd “Pearl River”.

Mike Zito was recently in New Orleans at the historic Piety Street Studios recording his second release on the Delta Groove Label. “Pearl River” includes guest artist such as Anders Osborn, Cyril Neville, Susan Cowsill, Reese Wynans and Lynwood Slim and was produced once again by David Z., well known for his work with Prince. “Pearl River” is set for release September 22, 2009 and Mike Zito is already including many of the new recordings in his live performances. “Pearl River” includes new original blues recordings that showcase Zito’s uncanny natural talent with a voice that evokes his raw emotion. Mike Zito’s guitar playing and singing show depth and insight beyond his years. When Zito is playing you can see him fuse with the guitar and the music but he never loses connection with the audience he is playing for.

Mike Zito will be in Wichita, Kansas at Friday’s on September 18, 2009 at 8:00 p.m. Zito will also be appearing in Columbia, Missouri on September 25, 2009 at The Blue Note at 10:00 p.m. and on September 26, 2009 at The Roots ‘N’ Blues Festival at 11:00 a.m.
