Mike Zito offers some blue-eyed funk on his cover of Prince's "Little Red Corvette" off his new CD, "Today." The song showcases Zito's guitar work and his soulful singing style.

The Ocala-bound Zito lives in Texas, but he grew up in St. Louis. His music is billed as "soulful pop," and his philosophy is simple: "Music can change everything - how you feel, how you see and what you believe," he noted in a press statement.

Growing up in St. Louis helped shape Zito's musical aspirations. He worked in a guitar shop, where "everyone from Chuck Berry to Bennie Smith came in that store," he noted. "I soaked up the sounds of that store and began building my own style."
